Dismantling of a terrorist network active in recruiting and sending fighters to join the branch of the Daesh organization in the Sahelo-Saharan zone.

It is in the cities of  Tangier, Casablanca, Béni Mellal, and Inzegane that investigations have uncovered this network.

He was, it seems, responsible for coordinating and facilitating the departure of extremists to the Sahelo-Saharan region, indicates the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) in a press release.

The searches carried out at the homes of the suspects – aged 35 to 40 – led to the seizure of several electronic devices, sums of money, and bladed weapons in the form of large sabers, hoods, gloves, and a rifle, specifying the same source.

This operation is part of the commitment of the Moroccan security services to face the growing threats posed by “ Daesh ” and other terrorist organizations, particularly in the wake of the incitements of these organizations to join their ranks, notably in the Sahel, we emphasize.

The arrested people were placed in police custody under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office responsible for terrorism and extremism cases.
