The Tunisian Culinary Route (RCT) was presented as part of the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which was held from January 24 to 28, 2024, to an international audience made up of institutional and professional representatives of tourism, journalists, and travelers. Video.

A large audience expressed interest in this program, participating in presentations and tastings on the Discover Tunisia stand set up by the ONTT representation in Spain.

The RCT represents a new sustainable tourism offer, which invites travelers to (re)discover the richness of Tunisian culinary heritage, by participating in culinary and creative experiences.

Learn to make harissa or your cheese in the North, discover the best-kept secrets of Tunisian wines, fish octopus using traditional techniques from the Kerkennah Islands, make natural cosmetics with olive oil in the underground oil mills from Djerba or Dahar, or climb palm trees, to make the best jams with dates freshly harvested in the South… are some of the hundreds of experiences available on the digital platform for both the B2B and B2C sectors.

Beyond the experiences, the RCT is a model of sustainable tourism, resulting from a co-creation process involving hundreds of Tunisian farmers, entrepreneurs, and associations, to convert natural resources and traditions into a virtuous tourism offer allowing the diversification of tourist activity throughout the country and the year.

The RCT was created as part of the “Promotion of Sustainable Tourism” project implemented by the Ministry of Tourism with the support of GIZ and co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and by the European Union, as part of its Tounes Wijhetouna program.

A new consolidated project that has entered its commercialization phase thanks to the exchanges generated at Fitur, auguring the positioning of Tunisia as one of the flagship destinations for 2024!
