Talks between Bouchouareb and Tobias Ellwood, who was accompanied by British Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for economic partnership with Algeria Lord Risby discussed bilateral economic cooperation and means to strengthen it, the ministry said in a communiqué.

Both ministries also broached undertaken actions to boost cooperation between economic between both countries’ economic operators, the same source said.

On this occasion, Bouchouareb recalled the focus points of the Algerian government’s strategy in terms of structural reforms aiming at diversifying the national economy, in accordance with the new provisions of the Constitution that attaches great importance to economy.

For his part, Ellwood highlighted the increasing interest of British operators in the Algerian market, mainly with the prospect of BREXIT, given the Algeria market’s great potential, particularly telecommunications and large distribution.

Besides, the British official “emphasized his government’s willingness to contribute to the reforms launched by Algeria, mainly in the fields of digital economy,” the communiqué added.
