The Technical Agency for Land Transport (ATTT) announces, this Tuesday, February 21, that a new model of driving license will be adopted from March 01, 2023, “in application of the provisions of article 55 of the government decree no. o 510, of June 18, 2021”.
The ATTT indicates, in a press release, that “the institution of this new model intervenes within the framework of the bringing into conformity of the Tunisian driving license, with what is in force at the international level, something which is of to simplify the procedures for using the Tunisian permit, its recognition, and its replacement by a foreign permit, in addition to the creation of additional employment positions for professional drivers abroad”.
Customers will have this new license model delivered when performing one of the following operations (obtaining the new license, adding a new category, renewing the license, obtaining a copy of the license, or substitution for the foreign permit, a Tunisian permit), the agency said.
Driving licenses delivered before the date of March 01, 2023 remain usable, as long as their validity has not expired. It is advisable in the case, where the permit or a category are no longer valid, to renew them, in accordance with this new model, indicates the same source.
