The political adviser to the Palestinian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Dik, indicated that the ministry was closely following the case of the sinking of the boat off the Tunisian coast, on the edge of which were Palestinians.

In a media statement on Sunday, relayed by the Palestinian agency Wafa, he added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riadh Maliki, had instructed the Palestinian Embassy in Tunisia to act immediately to follow up the details. of this tragedy, especially as there are reports of the presence of Palestinian nationals on board this boat.

The Palestinian ambassador in Tunis, Wael Fahoum, sent a team from the embassy to Zarzis (southern Tunisia), where bodies, of different nationalities, were washed up at sea, he said.

This team met with the national guard patrol chief in Zarzis, having confirmed the existence of the bodies of Palestinians, some of whom have Palestinian passports, and others of Syrian documents specific to refugees.

The investigating judge at Office No. 05 took over the file, submitting all the bodies to forensic medicine to determine the reasons for death, and undertook to provide the embassy with the necessary documents, as soon as possible. finished the investigations and the identity of the corpses was established.

The ministry will reveal all the information and details inherent in the identity of the remains, once obtained, and if other bodies or names of disappeared exist, he underlined.

According to him, the embassies of the State of Palestine in Libya, Italy, Greece, and Malta follow, in turn, information that may reach them from the competent authorities, on possible bodies that these countries hold.
