The National Audience will examine this week the extradition of Mohammed B., requested by Morocco. The accused, wanted for his alleged membership in a criminal organization specializing in drug and human trafficking, faces a sentence of 15 years in prison.

According to the Moroccan authorities, the accused, of Moroccan origin, is the head of a network dedicated to international drug trafficking, including hashish, and his wife of Spanish origin, the alleged owner of a boat used for illegal transport, not only of drugs but also of people, detailed the prosecution in its requisitions to which Europa Press had access.

The said pleasure boat was seized on August 21, 2022, by the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, while it was trying to enter Morocco with four large barrels of gasoline, specifies the prosecution. Officers discovered the boat was not registered and was carrying drugs hidden in the rack. As for the accused, aged 44, he was arrested on October 19 and placed in pre-trial detention. Last January, he opposed his extradition when he appeared in court.

Given the elements at its disposal, the prosecution considers that the conditions are met to order the extradition of Mohammed B., noting that the crimes with which the Moroccan is accused are not prescribed and that he is an adult and has no Spanish nationality. However, he asks the Moroccan authorities to make available to the Spanish authorities, for information purposes, a report on the drugs seized on the boat.
