Sellal inaugurates photovoltaic panel production plant in Ain Yagout

Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on Monday has inaugurated a private photovoltaic panel production plant, Aures Solaire, in the commune of Ain Yagout (Batna, 435-km east of Algiers).

During his inspection visit, Sellal hailed such private projects in the field of renewable energies and underlined the need to ensure training for university graduates.

The Premier has committed to providing support to the private plant.

He added that the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and the City and the Ministry of Industry and Mining will work together to ensure the use of solar energy in public facilities, especially in hospitals and schools in remote regions

Aures Solaire plant, achieved in partnership with a French firm in accordance with 51/49% rule and approved by the National Investment Council, produces 125,000 solar panels per year, i.e. 30 Megawatt, which represents the needs of 30,000 homes.

Stretching over an area of 5,500 square metres, the €10-million worthplant was launched in 2013 with the State’s support.

Aures Solaire employs 50 workers, most of them engineers and qualified technicians, and generates many other indirect jobs in the solar panel assembly and maintenance.
