Africa: Sellal recalls measures to improve business environment in Algeria

BAMAKO-Premier Abdelmalek Sellal highlighted Saturday in Bamako the economic growth witnessed in Africa, recalling the measures taken by Algeria to improve the business environment.

“In the economic field, our continent has witnessed since my years an economic growth estimated at 5%. Forecasts for 2017 are event more positive and confirm Africa’s ability to absorb new foreign investments in the fields of financial services, building and manufacturing industry,” said Sellal who represents President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the 27th Africa-France Summit.

Sellal stated Algeria, which had taken important measures with a view to improving the business environment and supporting huge public investments in infrastructures, hosted an important African Investments and Business Forum and contributed to the implementation of major structuring projects for the benefit of regional and continental economy.”

In this regard, he argued the Algiers-Abuja trans-Saharan road, which offers promising prospects for trade between Western Africa and the Mediterranean region and significant cost and time savings in goods transportation, the Algiers-Lagos gas pipeline and the Algeria-Nigeria optic fibre project “reflect the need for integrating our economies.”

Thanks to its assets, Africa seeks to establish quality partnership based on mutual respect, balance in interests and a faire sharing of prosperity, affirmed Sellal.
