Ali Haddad case: Algiers court delivers more verdicts, Amara Benyounes released

The Algiers court has delivered a new verdict in the appeal trial of Ali Haddad’s case, sentencing him to 12 years in prison, and overturning the convictions related to the seizure of several of his property.

In addition, the judge of the Court of Algiers reduced during the appeal trial, the sentences of former prime ministers Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal to 8 years in prison.

Former minister Amar Ghoul was sentenced to 7 years in prison, while Mahdjoub Bedda, Youcef Yousfi, Boudjemaa Telai and Abdelghani Zaalane, were sentenced to one year in prison and the same for Amara Benyounes who will leave today El Harrach prison the fact that he has already served his sentence.

However, the Sixth Criminal Chamber of the Court of Algiers exonerated Ali Haddad’s brothers, namely Amar, Mohamed, Sofiane and Meziane. The same goes for the former port directors, Algiers, Djarah Abdelaziz, Port of Djendjen, Bouab Abdelaziz, port of Bejaia, Achour Djaloul and Boudjouidja Riad director of the port of Mostaganem.
