Algeria refrains from any interference in the affairs of other nations, and advocates dialogue, and peaceful and diplomatic means for the settlement of conflicts.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that the Arab summit scheduled for next November in Algiers will be a success.

“Of course it will be a success. Algeria has no ulterior motive behind the organization of this summit. Our only objective is to bring our brothers together”, underlined Mr. Tebboune during his periodic interview with the representative of the national media, broadcast yesterday, on the national television and radio channels.

The Head of State indicated that in recent years there have been major clashes and conflicts between Arab countries on certain issues, specifying that these conflicts are known to all. However, he noted the importance of reuniting the Arab family in Algeria.

“The most important thing for us is to bring together our Arab brothers because Algeria is the right country to play the role of mediator and unifier of the Arab Nation because of its experience in resolving disputes”, underlined Mr. Tebboune, specifying that Syria, which is a brother country, remains legally and historically the founding country of the Arab Summit.

From the point of view of legitimacy, confided the President of the Republic, the presence of Syria at the Arab summit in Algiers is natural, adding that on the political and economic level, the Syrian brothers do not want to be the cause that will divide the ranks more than they currently are.

“Syria has time to think and we have time to think about it. We are in constant contact with the Arab countries and we are working with firmness and a belief in the unity of the Arab nation,” he noted.

“The future of Algeria is in Africa”

On the theme of energy, Abdelmadjid Tebboune assured that several integrated projects have been launched and will have a continental scope because the future of Algeria is in Africa. “The trans-Saharan gas pipeline which will cross Nigeria, Niger and Algeria is pan-Africanism. As well as the rail link with the rest of the continent.”

The Head of State also declared that Algeria’s return to the regional scene was highly welcomed by our peers. “We are in the process of strengthening our cooperation with the rest of the continent, particularly with regard to air and sea links. It is not normal that we had to wait 60 years to open a shipping line with Dakar and that we do not have a direct airline with Nigeria and South Africa.

“The JM of Oran are a great success”

Turning to the chapter of the Mediterranean Games Oran-2022, the President of the Republic did not fail to note the success of this 19th edition.

“We had hope that the organization of these games in Algeria would be a real success and we have worked for its success. There were indicators that showed it, but not on such a scale. President Tebboune did not omit to salute the valuable contribution of civil society and the associative movement which came from the 58 wilayas of the country to encourage Algerian athletes.

The President of the Republic indicated that the people had some apprehensions, underlining the work that is being done with civil society and the associative movement and which have been involved in making the Mediterranean Games a great celebration and a great success thanks also to the contribution volunteers pushed for the love of their country.

Referring to the military parade organized by the People’s National Army (ANP) on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty, Mr. Tebboune indicated that these are traditions of countries that have freed themselves from colonialism by arms and who sacrificed themselves to regain their independence and sovereignty.

“Returning to origins is a virtue. We organized this parade which stopped for about thirty years”, he said, adding that all the big nations organize their own parades and Algeria is a big African country that has its weight in the Mediterranean. and events confirm it.

The Head of State specified that “Algeria has the right to organize a military parade to show the cohesion which exists between the Algerian people and the ANP which is an Army-Nation.

“The government must live up to the aspirations of the people”

President Tebboune has not ruled out the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle. The practice of governance, he explains, is quite “natural” and “will intervene at the appropriate time”. Invited to explain the outstretched hand project (national unity initiative), President Tebboune specified that it includes the “lost” among the Algerians, but who are liable to “return within the national community”. However, there are already excluded, those who call for “foreign interference”, the elements that form the “fifth column”. “For those, it’s a waste of time,” he decided. Algeria is tracing its path and “advancing with sure steps on the path of development, and no one can slow down its progress”. In this wake, President Tebboune described as “the lie of the century”, allegations of the existence in Algeria of “prisoners of conscience”. “Insult and defamation is not an opinion, it is a violation of the law. Freedom of expression is conditioned by respect for others,” he said. The President wants as proof of this, the publication in Algeria of more than 180 daily newspapers, private TV channels, and a chain of information sites. “How many countries in our region could boast of having so many? Our press is completely free”, pleads the head of state. President Tebboune is in favor of a state that is fussy about the full exercise of its sovereign powers. “There is no democracy without a strong state,” he recalls. On the issue related to self-sufficiency in agricultural products, the President called for a change in mentalities: “Certainly,

“Restructuring of the agricultural sector”

Agriculture is a productive sector and should be seen as such, he believes. No social. He considers, in this regard, that state aid and support for agricultural sectors have not had the expected effect and yield. “We have therefore decided to restructure the agricultural sector and we have set a course to improve yields by more than 50% for next year,” he said. Concerning the fight against bureaucracy, President Tebboune affirmed that malevolent characters, disseminated in the apparatus of the State, do everything to undermine authority, thwart public initiatives and projects, and damage the image brand new from Algeria. “But we are here to neutralize them,” he reassures. “We could see planes and ships of the national flag making the journeys almost empty, and this is done deliberately to frustrate the Algerians and to say this is what the new Algeria looks like. One thing is certain, I will spare no one who would undermine the dignity of our people,” he warned. “Respect the dignity of Algerians!” he enjoins. On economic governance, the President said he was a supporter of the “regulatory state”. A State that does not interfere in the affairs between individuals and operators and grants all leeway and freedom to private investment that creates wealth. The Head of State announces an upcoming appreciation of the national currency and progressive salary increases, as well as for unemployment benefits. This prospect “is being studied at the government level”, he specifies, while integrating the real risk of inflation, adds the President. He has, finally, hailed the “patriotic top management” of Sonatrach through its employees, who, through their “hard work and their nationalist spirit, have enabled Algeria to recover its full potential”. “Important discoveries will be announced shortly.” Finally, for the generalization of the English language, he declared that it will be effective next year at the primary level. “BRICS: Algeria largely satisfies the membership conditions”

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that Algeria largely satisfied the conditions for joining the BRICS. “Membership of the BRICS Group is dependent on economic conditions which Algeria largely satisfies”, underlined President Tebboune. To a question of whether Algeria aspired to join this group, the President of the Republic reassured that “it is possible, but let’s not anticipate. What is certain is that there will be good news”, adding that “Algeria is interested in the BRICS, in that they constitute an economic and political power”. “Membership of this group would put Algeria, a pioneer country of non-alignment, safe from the friction between the two poles,” he added.

“The ANP, a peaceful army”

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that the People’s National Army (ANP) is a “peaceful army which pursues its mission of protecting the homeland, in fidelity to the message of the chouhada”. The ANP is a “nation-army and the nation is protected by its army”, declared President Tebboune. And to continue: “Our army is peaceful and has never deviated from international practices and continues its mission of protecting the homeland, in fidelity to the message of the chouhada.” Referring to the army-people link, the President of the Republic assured that “we have our own means, our army is strong and the Algerian people, so strong, enjoy national pride and remain attached to national unity”. Regarding the military parade organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty, the President of the Republic considered that this parade “is part of the traditions of the countries, like Algeria, liberated moreover by armed force, and not by an independence offered by anyone”. Algeria had to pay “a heavy price for its independence, that is to say the lives of millions of martyrs”, he recalled. The organization of the military parade is in fact a “return to the source”, and the Algerian people “have been waiting for such a parade for almost 30 years”, he underlined. “All the great powers organize such parades, following the example of Algeria, a large country in Africa and influential in the Mediterranean, as evidenced by several events”. the President of the Republic considered that this parade “is part of the traditions of the countries, like Algeria, liberated moreover by armed force, and not by an independence offered by anyone”.
