Algeria: Sonatrach Signs a Memorandum of Understanding With ENI and Equinor

The national hydrocarbon company Sonatrach has signed with its partners, the Italian Eni and the Norwegian Equinor, a memorandum of understanding aimed at relaunching exploration and development activities of hydrocarbon potential in In Salah and In Amenas.

The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is, according to the same source, “to define the framework of cooperation between the parties with a view to concluding hydrocarbon contracts in the areas of interest identified in In Salah and In Amenas, under the “aegis of law n19-13, governing hydrocarbon activities,” APS tells us.

Note that Sonatrach and its partners operate the contractual areas of In Salah and In Amenas within the framework of the association contracts signed respectively on December 23, 1995 and June 29, 1998, under the aegis of Law No. 86- 14 governing hydrocarbon activities.
