Air Algérie: A Petition to Demand “Two Additional Lines” with Canada

Members of the national community abroad remain Air Algérie ‘s main customers. They are particularly established in Europe, but also in Asia and North America.

Air Algérie, however, offers a single route to Algerians established in Canada. This is the Algiers-Montreal line, which is largely insufficient in the eyes of many travelers.

A petition has also been launched on this subject on the  Change.org website. Called “Let’s demand the creation of new direct airlines between Montreal and Algeria  ”, this petition launched on April 27 has already collected more than 1,000 signatures.

Air Algérie: “This request is not only logical, it is necessary

The signatories believe that a single line connecting the two countries is no longer enough, thus calling for “the creation of two additional lines: Montreal-Oran and Montreal-Constantine”.

This proposal, we read in the text of this petition, “is not only logical, but it is necessary” because “the number of Algerians in Canada is not adequately taken into account by current air services.”

Thus, according to the signatories, it is Air Algérie that is “ideally placed to respond to this demand”, and this is because it is the national airline that allows it to play a role in “the strengthening ties between Algeria and its Canadian diaspora.”

Adding two other lines to Air Algérie’s program with Canada would indeed make things easier for travelers to eastern and western Algeria who will not have to transit through Algiers.

Furthermore, these two lines will be able to prevent tickets from running out during the summer season, which will allow travelers to book without too much stress. This addition will finally help the Algerian community in Canada, particularly families, “to maintain close ties with Algeria”.
