Algeria have announced their 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations and have snubbed one of their English Premier League stars.

Leicester City duo, Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani have been included in the squad, while Watford’s  Adlene Guedioura made the cut.

There was not spot for West Ham United winger, Sofiane Feghouli, who was a regular feature for the national side.

Some of the other European-based players included the squad are Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam, Schalke’s Nabil Bentaleb and Yacine Brahimi.

George Leeken’s charges have been drawn in Group B alongside Tunisia, Senegal and Zimbabwe and will get their campaign underway against the Warriors on 15 January 2017.
