Tunisia: Tourism income up 31% in 4 months

 

Tunisiaโ€™s revenues from tourism rose 30.8 per cent in the first four months of 2018, the countryโ€™s

Minister for Development, Investment and International Cooperation Zied Ladhari said.

Tourism, industry, agriculture and services have contributed significantly to the countryโ€™s economic recovery, the minister said.

According to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism earlier, tourism revenues amounted to 457 million dinars ($182.8 million) in the first three months of 2018.

Tourism revenues were 371 million dinars ($148.4 million) in the first quarter of 2017.

Ladhari pointed out that economic growth in his country rose by 2.5 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, compared with 1.9 per cent in the same period last year.
