The third edition of “YES WE RUN”, the race which is held every year in Courbevoie, saw the remarkable presence of Morocco on Saturday evening. On the whole route, we could see the Moroccan flag, as well as the names of several Moroccan cities.

Hundreds of people took part in this annual race, which was kicked off by Hiba Iraki Housseyni, Consul General of Morocco in Colombes, and Jacques Kossowski, mayor of Courbevoie as well as his deputy for Sport, Khalid Ait Omar, and many other personalities.

Apart from the Moroccan flag which floated and the names of the cities of the kingdom inscribed on various posters, the organizers also decided that the technical t-shirts of the event offered to the runners be green and red, the colors of the Moroccan national flag. For Mohamed Hicham, president of the Alternative Citizen Action Association (ACAA), this third edition is a tribute to Morocco, its cities, and its warm colors.

This year, the 5 KM race was won by the Franco-Moroccan Azeddine Habbz, an athlete who participated in the Tokyo Olympics. That of 10 KM went to Bilal Safadi. The “YES WE RUN” race is organized by the Club d’Athlétisme de Courbevoie with the support of the city and in collaboration with Franco-Moroccan associations in the Paris region.

Open to all ages, “YES WE RUN”, started a 1000m race at the city’s stadium in the early afternoon for young people aged 7 to 12, which was sponsored by athlete Mehdi Baala, Olympic medalist over 1,500m and French record holder in 1,000m.
