The American Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, has confirmed that the “Link” project dedicated to teaching English to Algerian civil servants will be relaunched next fall, considering that the teaching of English is one of his most important priorities.
In a speech at the closing ceremony of the “Link 2” English language teaching project for Algerian government officials in May 2023, the Ambassador explained that the U.S. Embassy looked forward to continuing the project this fall with a new group of participants.
The spokesperson said that this project aims to equip civil servants with language skills to participate in international conferences and exchanges.
“Promoting the teaching of English is one of the top priorities of the U.S. Embassy in Algeria,” said Elizabeth Moore Aubin.
For her part, Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who holds the second-highest position in US diplomacy, announced Project Link as one of the results of the fifth strategic dialogue between the United States and Algeria. , held in March 2022.
A program for senior government officials
120 officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Trade, Communication, Culture, Defence, Environment, Fisheries, Pharmaceutical Industries, Public Works, and Transport, but also Civil Protection participated in the program.

The embassy commented on the message saying: “Salima Souakri, the former minister delegate in charge of elite sports in Algeria and former Olympic judoka, is one of the 120 civil servants from several Algerian ministries who receive English lessons. within the framework of the English courses of the embassy of the United States”.
