ALGIERS- The sacrifices made by the architects of November Glorious Revolution deserve that we “remain faithful and loyal to their pledge,” said Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah, Vice-minister of the National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Revolution Outbreak.

“Allah is witness of the immeasurable respect that we have for the artisans of this blessed night (November 1st, 1954) and those who followed their steps. We much appreciate their precious sacrifices in the service of the cause of their nation and their people,” said Lt General Gaid Salah in this message intended for the Army units.

“As such, they deserve today and everyday that we remain loyal to their vow, that we preserve their legacy and be faithful towards our nation, in our speech, deeds,” he added.

For Gaid Salah, it is thanks to that night that “…Algeria was freed from the colonial force and thanks to it that the French abject colonialism was overcome. During this night, the inevitable occurred; this strange colonial invader was attacked in its very deep basements.”

The National Defence Ministry will organize, as part of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the National Revolution outbreak , seminars, conferences, cultural and sports events, photo exhibitions and historical film screening.

Besides, several facilities of the Army will be named after our courageous martyrs.
