Council of Ministers adopts bill on metrology

The bill will allow “modernize the national metrology system, which is a major tool for a regulated competition economy,” the communiqué said.

Besides, the bill provides for “the development of unified measuring methods, instruments and equipment in line with the international metrology system, in order to ensure their validation abroad for the benefit exported local products,” the same source said.

Besides, the bill provides for the creation of National Council in charge of defining and coordinating the national metrology policy.

It also provides for the creation of a national entity in charge of monitoring the implementation of metrology standards, in addition calibration, reference and test laboratories network.
