The file of a corruption and embezzlement case relating to the national airline has resurfaced before the courts. Last January, the investigating judge of the Sidi Mohamed court detained several Air Algérie executives and managers of a tourism agency.
The accusations against them concern embezzlement of public funds. Last Wednesday, new elements were revealed regarding this affair.
5 new suspects in court for embezzlement
Furthermore, last Wednesday, January 31, the judicial services summoned five other suspects who had violated the laws and legislation at the level of the participation committee, reporting to the national airline, Air Algérie. This concerns, in particular, three leaders of this committee, namely: YF Deputy director of the participation committee, RM treasurer of the committee, and NS, working as an accountant at the committee level.
Remember, in 2021, the general management of the national airline froze the activities of its participation committee and suspended all member memberships. And this, while waiting for internal elections to be held, a new director and new members.
In addition, in this list of new suspects also appear the names of the brother of the director of the tourism and travel agency, as well as the account manager of the agency in question, reports the Arabic-speaking Ennahar. On January 17, the president of the participation committee and the director of the tourism agency were also presented before the courts. The file of this case was transmitted to room 4 of the court of Algiers.
