Air Algérie: Yacine Benslimane Dismissed, Hamza Benhamouda Appointed New CEO

The national airline Air Algérie announced a new change in management on Wednesday, February 7. Yacine Benslimane is no longer the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, after 19 months in his position. He now leaves his place to Hamza Benhamouda.

Algerian television announced on Wednesday that this change was made by the Head of State Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for reasons which currently remain unknown. Yacine Benslimane was appointed head of the company in June 2022, replacing Amine Debaghine Mesraoua, who held his position for 18 months.

From now on, Yacine Benslimane will be replaced by Hamza Benhamouda. This new boss of the Algerian airline knows the air transport sector well, having been the director of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) since November 2022. Previously, he also held numerous positions of responsibility within the company.

Exceptional promotion for the month of Ramadan

This change at the head of Air Algérie comes at a time when an interesting promotion is launched for the benefit of members of the Algerian diaspora. To facilitate their access to the country during the month of Ramadan, Air Algérie has announced an exceptional reduction of 50% on ticket prices.

This exceptional offer is valid for all flights to be carried out between March 10 and April 13, 2024. In this sense, the spokesperson for the company, Amine Andaloussi, announced, on the Echourouk Morning program, that As part of this new promotion, 30,000 tickets have been reserved for the Algerian diaspora in France, heading to Algeria.

Indeed, since the announcement of the reduction in ticket prices, 4,000 tickets have already been sold for this new Ramadan promo. The ideal opportunity for reunions between members of the diaspora and their respective families in the country.
