ALGERIA-Algeria will partake in the 2nd edition of the Regional Forum for the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), in Barcelona on 23 and 24 January, the Foreign Affairs Ministry announced Sunday in a communiqué.
The Algerian delegation will be led by Secretary General of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Hassane Rabehi, said the source.
Themed “Youth, at the heart of development in the Mediterranean region,” this conference includes a ministerial meeting and a forum. Il will focus on the means to strengthen regional cooperation for the three upcoming years part of the UfM, resulting from the Barcelona Process.”
During this second edition, Algeria, as a founding member of the Barcelona Process and the UfM and assuming co-chairmanship of the Dialogue in the Western Mediterranean (5+5),” will seize this opportunity to reiterate its commitment to the UfM through the development of good-neighbourhood ties and the establishment of strengthened dialogue, bilateral cooperation and partnership that favour the emergence of a regional peaceful, stable and prosperous space,” added the source.
