The Minister of the Interior, Kamel Feki, met on Tuesday at the department’s headquarters with the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Tunisia, Céline Moyroud.

In this regard, both parties stressed the need to generalize the experience of community policing in all governorates, with a view to establishing a climate of trust between citizens and the security apparatus. Moreover, cooperation in the field of local development between the Tunisian government and the UNDP for the period 2023-2027 was on the agenda of the meeting. Also, emphasis was placed on the need to accelerate the implementation of the activities provided for in the document of the fourth phase of the 2023-2027 cooperation project. The minister underlined, in this context, the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior to security reform, in accordance with international standards. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss cooperation relating to security reform, particularly in terms of services provided to citizens, through the Community Policing approach, adopted in the governorate of Medenine, adds the press release.
The cooperative relations between Tunisia and the UN program as well as the strategic partnership established between the two parties were at the center of the meeting, indicates a press release from the Department of the Interior.
