Passengers from the airline Tunisair are currently stranded in foreign airports, particularly in France. Despite all the measures announced by the Tunisian airline, the situation seems far from being under control.

This Sunday, July 3, Tunisair unveiled the list of canceled and postponed flights. Some flights are rescheduled, especially from French airports, which have the largest number of stranded Tunisian passengers.

Canceled flights to Tunisia: explanations from Tunisair

To explain this situation, Tunisair speaks of maintenance delays for some of its planes due to the shortage of spare parts, but also of the disruptions experienced by several airports in Europe.

Speaking this Sunday on Radio Mosaïque FM, the CEO of Tunisair assured that the disturbances would be overcome as of tomorrow, Monday, July 4, following the receipt of certain parts necessary for the repair of an aircraft. This aircraft will be ready to take off tomorrow, he said.

In view of the gravity of the situation, the President of the Tunisian Republic reacted to the blocking of Tunisian passengers abroad. According to what the Webdo site reported on Sunday, Kaïs Saïed described the situation of Tunisians stranded abroad as “unacceptable”, calling for “immediate solutions to be found”.

Marseille airport: the testimony of a Tunisair passenger

In the meantime, the situation is turning into chaos. Despite all the efforts made by Tunisir in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, including the establishment of a crisis unit for continuous monitoring of the situation of passengers stranded abroad, the situation remains far from resolved. Tunisian passengers find themselves, to this day, stranded in foreign airports.

In a testimony delivered this Sunday morning to Mosaïque FM radio, a passenger stranded at Marseille airport recounted her ordeal. “I am a passenger on a flight last night on Tunisair, and we are still stranded at Marseille airport (the testimony was made around 10 a.m. this Sunday morning, editor’s note”.

According to her, the passengers of this flight, including children, were abandoned at Marseille airport without any explanation from Tunisair. Moreover, she claims that several other passengers on other flights to Tunisia are experiencing the same fate.

Although Tunisair has announced the rescheduling of three flights from Marseille to Tunis on July 3 and 4, the passenger claims that her flight “ is not in the system”. “It is a phantom theft, which is not cited anywhere,” adds this Tunisian passenger to the microphone of Mosaïque FM.
