A ministerial meeting held yesterday, Wednesday, August 23, in Carthage, under the chairmanship of the Head of State, and in the presence of senior security officials, worked on speculation, and the shortage of basic products, in particular bread, sugar, animal feed, subsidized oil; “even soft drinks that have never been out of stock in Tunisia’s history, including during the harshest crises, are now rare and subject to speculation”.

The President of the Republic once again called for the continuation of joint action between the State apparatuses and for the cleaning up of its institutions of those who work to hinder the normal functioning of its machinery.

He also urged to rule, quickly, on the cases brought before the courts, on the understanding that the procedures were put in place to carry out a fair trial, and not for impunity.

No one is above the law, he asserted, affirming that the State will not stand idly by in front of those who seek, by all means, to mistreat the Tunisian people and provoke crises.

“There is no reason for some to believe that throwing themselves into the lap of the foreigner to attack the fatherland, could save them from legal proceedings, Betray the fatherland and the people and deny their rights, will not remain without questioning or sanction,” he said.

The meeting was also devoted to cyber crimes and abuses on social networks and advocated the application of the law to stem these dangers.
