Tunisia, 12th Most Indebted Country to the IMF With an Outstanding Amount of 2 Billion Dollars

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) updated, on January 24, 2023, the list of countries most indebted to the Fund. There is talk of 94 countries around the world indebted to the institution for a total outstanding amount of 111.5 billion SDRs, or the equivalent of 150.6 billion dollars.

For Tunisia, it is indebted to the IMF to the tune of 1,525 million SDRs, which is equivalent to 2,060 million dollars. An outstanding amount that places Tunisia in 12th place among the countries most indebted to the Fund.

With an outstanding amount of 44.2 billion dollars, Argentina is by far the country most indebted to the IMF. The Latin American country is followed by Egypt which saw its outstanding amount reach 18.1 billion dollars. Ukraine finishes in the top 3 with an outstanding debt of 10.3 billion dollars.

Morocco, 13th, has outstanding debt of 2 billion dollars, followed by Jordan and Ghana with outstanding debt of 2 and 1.7 billion dollars respectively.
