Tunis Will Host the 1st Mediterranean Decarbonization Forum

Tunisia will host the first Mediterranean Decarbonization Forum by the end of September 2024, announced the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Crafts (Utica). A preparatory meeting was held on Friday, March 29, 2024, in Tunis, indicating the employers’ organization in a press release.

This event will be an opportunity to present the decarbonization ecosystem in Tunisia and the Mediterranean

Participants will discover innovative and effective solutions to successfully transition to carbon neutrality.

The forum will also be a timely opportunity for debate, mutual learning, and joint action in favor of the low-carbon strategy and the fight against climate change.

An organizing committee bringing together all stakeholders will be set up in the coming days, added UTICA.

The preparatory meeting took place in the presence of the vice-president of Utica, Hichem Elloumi, the president of the National Federation of Electricity and Electronics (Fedelec), Adel Manaa, the resident representative of the Program of United Nations for Development (UNDP) in Tunisia, Céline Moyroud, and the Director General of the National Energy Management Agency (ANME), Fathi Hanchi, as well as representatives of the different organizations and institutions involved in the issue of decarbonization.
