The WSF Calls on Morocco to Cut Ties with Israel

At an emergency meeting of the Maghreb Social Forum (MSF) attended by Palestine activists, participants considered the war against the Palestinians as an unequal war of punishment and genocide perpetrated by the Zionist occupation against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

This responsibility falls not only on the racist state of Israel but also on all Western countries due to their blatant alignment with aggression. They bear direct moral, political, and historical responsibility for the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist occupying forces against innocent civilians, including murder, bombing, destruction, and imposition of a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of essential fuel and food, cutting off water and electricity, which has exacerbated the humanitarian situation affecting health facilities, hospitals, ambulances, and healthcare workers who have been targeted.

We, at the Maghreb Social Forum:

• Condemn the massacres committed against Palestinians in Gaza, including the murder, destruction, displacement, and genocidal war constituting war crimes and crimes against humanity, this heinous war, with the direct participation of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and other countries, as well as the shameful collusion of some Arab governments, targets children, women, the elderly, journalists, hospitals, churches, mosques.

• Call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, the opening of borders, and the provision of humanitarian, medical, water, and food aid. We strongly reject any Zionist plans to displace the people of Gaza by terrorizing, intimidating, and killing them.

• Support the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to resistance, as defined in United Nations Resolution 2625, which recognizes the “legitimacy of the struggle” of peoples for independence, regional integrity, national unity, and liberation from colonialism, racial discrimination, and foreign occupation by all means available.

• Condemn the American and European alignment with the racist Zionist entity for perpetrating new massacres against the Palestinian people, in flagrant violation of United Nations resolutions and international law.

• We also condemn the decisions of certain European countries to criminalize support for the Palestinian resistance and to condemn the crimes of the Israeli occupation, like the French decision. Such actions have a negative impact on the individual and collective freedoms of these countries, in particular the freedom of expression for the Maghreb and Machrekian communities who are denied the right to express their support for the just Palestinian cause, exposed to arrest, imprisonment, and fines.

• Denounce the dissemination of misleading information by international media, which completely aligns itself with the Israeli occupation state and uses media and social networks to restrict Palestinian and solidarity discourse around the world.

• We also condemn the direct targeting of Palestinian journalists, resulting in the martyrdom of 26 journalists and 10 media workers. Additionally, we also condemn the ban on international journalists entering Gaza to carry out their work and report the facts about the ongoing genocide.

• We call for dismantling the complicity mechanisms of companies, institutions, and countries that support the apartheid Israeli state and its military apparatus, through direct measures targeting arms producers, digital services, information, and related products.

• We condemn the official position of Arab countries and the Arab League, and we call on them to adopt positions that reflect the aspirations of their people. We condemn the ban on the expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people by the Algerian regime, and we specifically call on Morocco and all countries that normalized with the Zionist entity to immediately sever their relations.

Within the Maghreb Social Forum, we vigorously condemn these crimes, which add to the precedents committed against the courageous resistance of the Palestinian people in their struggle to defeat the occupation, achieve liberation, and build an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

We call for:

• Immediately end the genocidal campaign and the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, including the provision of water, food, fuel, and medical supplies.

• Strengthen the international campaign of boycott, divestment, and sanctions against the occupying state, and expose the large companies that collaborate with the Zionist entity across continents.

• Investigate crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli regime and its accomplices around the world.

• Call on social movements, institutions, unions, and associations in the Maghreb region to broaden their solidarity with the Palestinian people by developing a program of struggle, including demonstrations in front of the embassies participating in the aggression and by urging the international institutions to fulfill their duty to protect the Palestinian people, stop aggression and provide aid.

We have taken note of “The Declaration on Palestine” issued by the World People’s Summit, and as Palestinian time means more bloodshed, we call on the people of the world to respond to the call for global mobilization, starting with demonstrations and taking to the streets on Saturday, November 4 to support the Palestinian resistance.

We welcome the positions of peoples, social movements, unions, institutions, and countries that have expressed their clear support for the struggles of the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, the right to return, the release of prisoners from occupation jails, the dismantling of settlements and the creation of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
