The Atlantis hotel chain of the Soummam group is expanding. After its immense success in the dairy products sector, El Hadj Lounis Hamitouche also sees big in the hotel industry. The Algerian industrialist has just opened the fourth establishment in its hotel chain.
Aurès Atlantis Akbou was inaugurated in Akbou, in the wilaya of Béjaïa. This is the group’s fourth hotel and the second in this industrial town in the Soummam Valley which is also home to the Soummam group’s very first hotel establishment, the Atlantis Akbou Hotel.
The Soummam group also opened the Atlantis Béjaïa Aéroport and Atlantis Bouzaréah Hotel in Algiers. This was inaugurated in December 2022.
The inauguration ceremony of Aurès Atlantis Akbou organized on the occasion of the Amazigh New Year, Yennayer, saw the presence of the founder of the Soummam group, Hadj Lounis Hamitouche, and dozens of guests.
“This is an achievement for the city of Akbou and the whole country. We will create a similar establishment in each region,” declared the boss of the Soummam group at the microphone of Berbère Télévision.
Hadj Hamitouche reiterated on the occasion the motto he has always made his own: “What we earn, we invest in Algeria. We have no plans to go abroad. Everything we earn here, we invest in Algeria”.
The Soummam group is banking on the hotel industry to diversify
The new hotel establishment is a tourist complex with a hotel and restaurants.
« This is the fourth Atlantis project, the channel is growing. El Hadj Hamitouche did not skimp on the means to create this establishment,” a manager of the Soummam group told the same media.
Concerning the services, the same manager assured that the “same principle” of the three existing hotels would be applied to the new establishment, with “affordable prices for customers”.
The hotel has two types of restaurants, a relay restaurant with a capacity of 400 people where you can have lunch for an average of 700 dinars and a gourmet restaurant for another category of clientele, he explained.
« It is a jewel that brings a plus to tourism and to the Akbou region which is developing thanks to its children », said a guest.
The Akbou region, in the wilaya of Béjaïa, is known for its very dynamic activity area where several leading brands in the food industry and others are located, such as Soummam, General Emballage, Danone, Tazedj, etc.
