Algeria – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has said his country supports Algeria’s bid for a seat on the UN Security Council.

Prince Faisal’s statements come after his meeting with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

“We are convinced that Algeria will be a major player in supporting regional and international security,” said Prince Faisal.

President Tebboune received the Saudi minister on Thursday at El Mouradia Palace in Algiers.

At the start of the reception, the Algerian President welcomed Prince Faisal and his accompanying delegation.

Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the President and people of Algeria.

Tebboune conveyed his greetings and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, and the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, they reviewed the close relations between the leaders and peoples of the two countries and ways to strengthen them in all areas, in addition to discussing current Arab and regional issues to serve the interests of both countries. country.

The interview took place in the presence of the Ambassador, Deputy Minister of State for African Affairs. Dr. Sami Al-Saleh, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Abdullah Al-Busairi, and the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud.
