The State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco expressed, during the seventh meeting of the Qatari-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee, held yesterday in Rabat, strong will to strengthen bilateral cooperation in order to forge a strategic partnership that meets the aspirations of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and H M King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco as well as the peoples of the two brotherly countries.

In a speech, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani expressed thanks to the Kingdom of Morocco for the warm welcome and the positive atmosphere that prevailed during the visit.

The Prime Minister and Interior Minister said that both sides held several meetings and signed a number of agreements, including the establishment of a joint commercial committee and the opening of the shipping line between the Moroccan ports and Hamad Port.

He stressed that this will contribute to trade exchange between the two countries.

The Prime Minister added that the businessmen council between the two countries will be activated, which will also contribute to boosting and increasing the volume of investments between Qatar and Morocco.

The Prime Minister and Interior Minister reiterated his thanks to Morocco for the good reception and warm hospitality, in addition, he called for the holding of the upcoming meeting of the Qatari-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee in Qatar.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Morocco, Saad Eddine El Othmani, lauded the solid and established foundations that characterise Qatari-Moroccan relations and his satisfaction with the qualitative development of the course of these relations. He confirmed the existence of a strong shared will to work with every effort to upgrade these relations.

The Moroccan Prime Minister stressed that the seventh meeting of the Qatari-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee is an opportunity to review and evaluate the outcome of bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially trade, finance, investment, and culture.

The Prime Minister of Morocco pointed out that the economic, investment and trade cooperation between the two countries is the locomotive driving bilateral cooperation, especially with the great potential of both countries and the will to achieve the desired goals, within a global economy that is characterised by a comprehensive openness and growing conglomerate.

H E the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco urged the economic and business actors of the two countries to double their efforts to develop a genuine strategic partnership that activate economic, trade and investment cooperation through optimal utilization of the available economic potential.
