Puneet Talwar, Ambassador of the United States of America arrived Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Morocco to officially assume his functions, and announces a press release from this diplomatic representation, released yesterday, Wednesday.

Puneet Talwar arrived in Morocco on Tuesday, November 15 to officially assume his duties as United States Ambassador to Morocco, it was announced in a press release released yesterday, Wednesday. 

Quoted by this press release, the new Washington ambassador to Rabat said he looked forward “to working every day to strengthen our partnership with Morocco, one of our oldest friends and the first country to recognize the independence from the United States.

“The commitment of the United States and Morocco to supporting regional peace, security, and development—including sustainable economic growth on the African continent—is stronger than ever. So is our commitment to working together on global challenges, including the climate crisis,” he said.

In the weeks and months to come, Puneet Talwar plans to speak directly with the Moroccan government and citizens about the deep ties that bind these two countries.

Puneet Talwar has extensive professional experience in foreign policy and national security in the US government and has held senior positions in the State Department, the White House, and the US Senate.

He previously served as Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Special Assistant to the President, and Senior Director at the National Security Council, as well as Senior Professional Staff at the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where he served as the main adviser to Joe Biden, who was a senator at the time.

Puneet Talwar also has extensive professional experience in matters related to North Africa and the Middle East.
