This week, the Algerian Ministry of Industry issued three final approvals for 3 dealers which will allow them to resume the activity of importing new vehicles. Among the brands announced, OPEL, which will be represented by “Halil Commerce et industrie” (HCI), a major player in the distribution and sale of automobiles in Algeria for a long time.
A specialist in the distribution and sale of new vehicles, HCI is one of the oldest car dealers in Algeria, a member of the HALIL Group, created in 1999, the family business has developed around the brands of the Volkswagen group, namely Audi, Volkswagen , Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Backed by its history, Halil Commerce et industrie is today a major player in automobile distribution and sales. HCI is now the official representative of the OPEL brand, and therefore comes under the control of the Stellantis Group, which will mark with these brands the revival of the automotive market in Algeria, with in particular the launch of industrial activity through its factory in manufacture of FIAT brand vehicles in Oran.
The marketing of OPEL brand vehicles by HCI will begin before the end of this first half of 2023.
