Morocco will participate in Seafood Expo Global, scheduled to be held on April 25-27 in the Belgian capital of Brussels.

Morocco will be represented by a delegation made up of 30 companies, public institutions and professional associations, and the Autonomous Institution of Exports Control and Coordination (EACCE). Celebrating 25 editions in Brussels, this year’s event will be the largest ever held in terms of exhibition space, according to event organizers.

More than 1,800 exhibiting companies from 79 countries will be displaying their seafood products, services and equipment in an area spanning more than 38,350 square meters.

The exposition will bring thousands of industry stakeholders from every sector of the seafood industry around the globe together with new and existing suppliers. They will learn about emerging trends and discuss industry challenges and successes, according to organizers.

Attending seafood buyers will be represented by restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, catering services, importers, distributors, seafood markets and more.

Among this year’s exhibitors, 73 national and regional pavilions will showcase their seafood products and equipment. New pavilions this year will be filled by participants from Latvia, Myanmar, Poland and Venezuela. Costa Rica, Cyprus, Myanmar, Romania and Venezuela will be participating for the first time.

Global consumption of fish and seafood has doubled since 1973 and is estimated to reach 178 metric tons by 2025.

Coinciding with Seafood Expo Global, a secondary event titled Seafood Processing Global will represent every aspect of seafood processing including packaging materials  equipment, refrigeration, freezing equipment  and supplies.

Primary processing equipment, secondary processing equipment, hygiene control/sanitation and quality assurance services will also be represented.

Seafood Processing Global will be located in Halls 4 and 8 throughout the three-day event.
