The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have just placed a large order for drones from Turkey. Against the backdrop of strong dissatisfaction with the Algerian authorities

The order concerns twelve armed drones of the Bayraktar TB-2 type (medium altitude, with an autonomy of more than 24 hours) and four ground control stations to direct the operations.

The order was placed with the Turkish company Baykar, headed by Selçuk Bayraktar who is none other than the husband of Sümeyye, the youngest daughter of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The latter has undergone a regular attack in recent days from the Algerian press, which accuses Ankara of its support for the Movement for the Autonomy of Kabylia.

Exceptional armament

This acquisition will allow the FAR to be able to use a decisive tool, which could make the difference in a possible armed conflict. The Moroccan army has also already demonstrated its know-how in the use of this weaponry.

As recently as last week, Dah El Bendir, commander of the Polisario National Guard was killed in a response (never claimed by Morocco) led by a FAR drone against an incursion at the level of the defense wall by armed elements of the Polisario.
