Algeria proceeded to the exceptional opening of its border with Morocco on Wednesday, April 14, According to the Moroccan Arabic-language media Al3omk, which reported the information, this temporary opening made it possible to repatriate the lifeless body of a young Moroccan who died on the Algerian coast, while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea illegally.

The land border between Algeria and Morocco was exceptionally opened on Wednesday morning, at the Zouj Bghal border post. According to the same source, a Moroccan ambulance received the remains of Ismail, a young harrag who died on the Algerian coast, after trying to reach the other side of the Mediterranean aboard an inflatable boat.

Asked by the family of the deceased, the Algerian authorities responded favorably to the request to open the borders to repatriate the body of the victim. The remains were transported to the Moroccan city of Oujda, where the deceased is from and where he was buried.

The Moroccan media recalls that the unfortunate was part of a group of 13 Moroccans, most of whom are from the city of Oujda. They had decided to set sail to migrate to Europe from the Algerian city of Oran. Unfortunately for them last February, the inflatable boat they had boarded exploded in the middle of the sea, causing them to drown.
