The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, took an option against the will of the French authorities, exposing his fellow citizens to sanctions from the Hexagon. What is it exactly?

While France is under a permanent terrorist threat with a situation that seems to be worsening, Morocco, under the instructions of King Mohammed VI, would be reluctant, like many other countries elsewhere, to welcome its illegal nationals or radicalized, who the Hexagon intends to expel, in order to reduce the risk of attacks on its soil. And according to Bladi, the French authorities are preparing to reduce the number of visas issued to Moroccan nationals.

“We have levers to do this, for example visas (…) by targeting political leaders, economic leaders. Yes, it is one of the levers that the President of the Republic, that the Minister of the Interior is considering, ”said Clément Beaune, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, during a program on Europe1, insisting, the newspaper, that this coercive measure aims to put pressure on the leaders of the targeted countries.

Bladi, recalling that this question of the expulsion of S files arose in the aftermath of the first terrorist attacks in 2015, resurfaced during the terrorist attacks recorded last month in several French cities. The assassination of Professor Samuel Paty, in the Yvelines, following an attack on the Nice church that claimed the lives of three people, accelerated the process of deporting 231 Moroccan nationals illegally in France.

During his visit to Morocco on October 14, the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, discussed with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita on the issue of the fight against terrorism, while addressing a question at the heart of the meeting: the expulsion of Moroccan nationals living in France and monitored for radicalization.

“A certain number of Maghreb countries and Russia do not intend to recover their nationals and do not issue the necessary travel documents … We can no longer accept it, we are acting massively and brutally within the framework of the law”, , according to the Opinion, deplored a relative of Gerald Darmanin.

If cooperation for the return to Morocco of people who have arrived illegally in France does not pose a great problem, the concern is at the level of people considered dangerous, for whom the kingdom requires strict coordination with the kingdom’s security services. “As for binationals, they are considered French in France and Moroccans in Morocco under the signed judicial agreement,” another pair of sleeves as a Moroccan diplomat told the newspaper.
