The Secretary-General (SG) of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Abdelkrim Aouissi, examined, on Sunday, with a delegation from the Russian company โZarubezhneftโ, investment opportunities in the field of hydrocarbons in Algeria, particularly in regarding the development of oil fields and the production of equipment, indicates a press release from the ministry.
The meeting with the delegation of the company โZarubezhneftโ, led by the company’s vice-president for business development, director of international projects, Terentyev Vyacheslav, took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Algeria, and ministry executives.
During this meeting, emphasis was placed on means of strengthening cooperation and partnership relations in the field of exploration, development, and exploitation of hydrocarbons.
During this meeting, the two parties discussed the existing relationship between Sonatrach and the Russian company, as well as the prospects for its development, in particular through the memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies within the framework of the new law on hydrocarbons, according to the press release.
The meeting also focused on the possibilities of cooperation and investment opportunities available in the field of field development local production of oil and gas industry equipment, and promotion of local products, in addition to reducing emissions and carbon capture.
The two parties also expressed their โcommon desire to strengthen cooperation and develop mutually beneficial partnerships, based on projects integrating the mastery of production techniques, the transfer of know-how, and experience, in addition to training and national integration, concludes the press release.
