On November 22, an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was recorded in Algeria, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (CSEM). This is the third earthquake observed in the country in 24 hours.
Algeria was affected by three earthquakes in 24 hours, according to data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (CSEM) and the Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG).
The first, of magnitude 5.2 on the open Richter scale, was set at 4:53 a.m. (local time) by CRAAG. Its epicenter was southwest of El Harrouch, in the wilaya of Skikda, in eastern Algeria. After the first shock, local media reported that many panicked residents had abandoned their homes.
A little later, around 6:17 am (local time), a second tremor hit the same wilaya. It was 3.9 degrees on the Richter open scale.
The third earthquake also occurred in the north of the country at around 12:10 p.m. (local time) and was felt mainly in the municipalities of Constantine and Guelma. Magnitude 4.4, it was originally announced by the Instituto Geografico Nacional in Madrid.

Shakes of different intensities were felt in northeastern Algeria, according to automatic testimonies collected on the CSEM website. By communicating their testimonies, some reported quite strong shaking, others slight. One of the witnesses noticed that his furniture was shaking.
