Salma is a young German woman of the Muslim faith. This summer, she decided to take a vacation in Morocco to be able to bathe in a burkini in peace, without having to face all the controversies present around this subject in Europe.
Salma went to Mirleft, a Moroccan town. Unexpectedly, while bathing in a burkini in the swimming pool of her hotel, she was asked to leave because of her outfit.

This decision did not come from the pool supervisors, but from French tourists who were present on site.
“I was at the pool when two men and a woman joined us. At that point, they go to the lifeguard to tell him that they don’t want to swim because I’m wearing a burkini,” Salma explained.
Unfortunately for the young woman, the lifeguard listened to the French and approached Salma to ask her to leave and come back later when the tourists had left. This comment did not please Salma, who decided not to let it go and stay in the pool.

As she continued bathing, Salma noticed the French woman taking pictures of her. Outraged, she decided to confront her and the woman told her that she found her burkini “unhygienic” and that she felt uncomfortable bathing in the same place as her. Salma.
After a heated discussion, the French tourists finally decided to leave the pool.
“It didn’t surprise me that they didn’t like seeing me in a burkini, but it surprised me that they had the audacity to do the thinking in a Muslim country ,” Salma said.
Outraged by these reactions, Salma decided to rant on TikTok and received many messages of support.
