The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, reaffirmed Tunisia’s constant support for the Palestinian cause, condemning, among other things, the violations perpetrated by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinians.

This is what he said on Wednesday, on the sidelines of his participation in the third meeting of the Arab Interministerial Commission “responsible for acting with a view to putting an end to the measures of the occupying forces in the city of Jerusalem in Cairo. “.

“Throughout its tenure on the Security Council, Tunisia has not stopped ‘defending the Palestinian cause and urging the international community to relaunch the peace process so as to guarantee the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establishment of its state with East Jerusalem as its capital”, he recalled during his speech relayed by the official agency, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).

“Implementing an urgent action plan to save the city of Jerusalem and prevent attempts to Judaize this city was on the menu of the meeting,” noted the same source.

During this meeting, the Foreign Ministers also reviewed the results of the work drawn up by the Commission since its second meeting in September 2021. They thus “reported on the measures launched at international level to ensure the non-repetition Israeli aggression, to end hostilities and to preserve the historic and demographic status of the city of Jerusalem,” TAP reported.
