Laïd Ibrahim, who launched the Ifri Group in 1986, was an outstanding businessman. His ability to anticipate the future and his unfailing commitment has made it possible to build one of the pillars of the Algerian industry.
He has become a source of inspiration for many leaders and entrepreneurs. The death of Laïd Ibrahim leaves a considerable void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, working with him, and appreciating him. His beginnings in agriculture and the management of family land were decisive in the formation of his personality.
Laïd Ibrahim: A pioneer and exceptional businessman
Born on January 16, 1935, in Ifri Ouzellaguen, an emblematic place of the Algerian revolution, Ibrahim Laïd founded one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Algeria. The Ifri group, established in a village near Béjaïa, is also recognized for its high-quality soft drinks, fruit juices, and olive oil.
In just one year, the group managed to launch a mineral water which quickly became one of the most popular in the country. Despite attempts at denigration by malicious competitors, the group continued to grow and expand its product range.
In 2010, Ifri introduced the Ifruit brand, eliminating artificial additives and adopting aseptic packaging in Algeria, thus ensuring quality and traceability for increasingly attentive consumers.
Today, Ifri markets a wide range of products, from mineral water to olive oils, in Algeria and internationally.
On a social level, Ifri stands out for its support of sporting and cultural initiatives, including the construction of a mosque and the sponsorship of football clubs and cultural events.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group donated oxygen concentrators to Algerian healthcare centers.
Starting from a modest family business, Hadj Ibrahim raised Ifri to the rank of leader in the agri-food industry in Algeria. This feat honors the memory of the founder, whose children are committed to continuing the work with the same passion and the same values.
