Since the beginning of January 2022, customs guard units have foiled smuggling operations of subsidized food products, in particular couscous, pasta, semolina and chorba (soup), estimated at 64,081 kg, announces customs.
These actions are part of the fight against the smuggling of subsidized food products throughout the national territory.
The 5th customs guard unit in Medenine seized 43% of the goods in question or 28 tons.
While the 6th unit of the customs guard of Sfax got hold of 25 tons.
The other units in different regions of the country confiscated quantities estimated at around 11 tons of foodstuffs.
