Here is the full text of the press release:

“In a context of extreme distress and crisis, resulting from the brutal and continuous aggression of the occupying entity against the occupied Palestinian territories and defenseless civilians, in total disregard of all international conventions and universal values, without the less responsibility for the acts committed.

The brutal cold-blooded aggression and horrific attacks in Palestine, and particularly in Gaza, against children, women, the elderly, and the sick, in full view of the world, for almost two months, are a shame for all humanity, especially in the face of the inability of many international parties to assume their political, legal and moral responsibilities to immediately end this barbaric aggression and hold the occupying entity accountable for war crimes and of genocide, committed systematically, and targeting defenseless civilians in residential neighborhoods, hospitals, refugee camps and facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

Tunisia, which stands with all its abilities alongside the Palestinian people, denounces the serious violations of international humanitarian law, in the face of suspicious international silence in exchange for an unprecedented human awareness of Palestinian rights, and calls on the international community to fully assume its responsibility for the situation in Palestine, based on equal treatment of all questions of occupation and aggression, based on the same criteria and standards.

Tunisia reaffirms the need for an immediate ceasefire and the imperative to ensure rapid delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need in Gaza and throughout Palestine, without conditions or obstacles. It reiterates the need to provide international protection to Palestinian civilians in accordance with UN resolutions and to end the illegal blockade and partitioning imposed on Palestine and Gaza, as well as the various forms of collective punishment inflicted on Palestinians.

It also calls for guaranteeing protection and providing support to relief teams and humanitarian organizations active on the ground.

Tunisia renews its categorical rejection of all forms and attempts of expulsion and forced displacement of Palestinians, measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and status of the occupied Palestinian territory, and desperate attempts to liquidate the just Palestinian cause.

We are convinced that security and stability in the region remain dependent on the end of the occupation of all Palestinian territories and the rest of the occupied Arab territories and the establishment of a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace, allowing Palestinian people to enjoy their inalienable and inalienable rights, in their independent and sovereign State on their territory, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Tunisia calls on the international community to draw lessons from distant and recent history and past and present tragedies to bring qualitative change to international efforts, including at the Security Council level, to end colonialism and enable the people of Palestinians to exercise their legitimate, internationally recognized rights. It also underlines the need to do without traditional approaches in dealing with the Palestinian question and useless agendas, favoring a new approach, far from any bias, based on wisdom, foresight, and respect for rights, values , and principles of international law, including international humanitarian law, in the service of peace and stability in the region.

Tunisia, a supporter of justice and peace, will remain firm in its principled support for just causes, first and foremost the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, freedom and independence.”
