In conjunction with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to review the prices of maritime and air transport for the benefit of the Algerian community abroad, Air Algérie is initiating communications with its various agencies to inquire about the details of this approach. and to request the reservation of tickets in anticipation of the summer holidays, but the airline has closed reservations and frozen the sale of summer tickets for many countries which have high demand, this is what Echorouk has discovered by visiting several Air Algerie agencies in Algiers, which confirmed to us that the ticket booking process had been frozen for weeks for most European countries and Canada, due to demand which greatly exceeded supply for the months of June, July and August.

The manager responsible for organizing the process of booking and selling tickets confirmed to “Echorouk” that Air Algerie agencies inside and outside the country are witnessing a large influx of customers these days. to inquire about the ticket price reduction process announced by the President of the Republic. But the process is still under study, which requires them to unlock the number of the company’s flights to different countries to make it a success, return to the program set up in 2019, and stop working on the current scheme which depends on the partial return of flights not exceeding 25% of the capacity of Air Algérie which, according to them, has a great need to intensify the flight program to boost its cash flow and meet customer needs.

Echorouk sources within Air Algerie agencies said the delay in announcing the new prices and promotion of flights, has caused dissatisfaction among customers who are required to book their vacation dates from now on. and to reserve tickets to organize their work schedules, and the delay for a longer period will deprive many of them of benefiting from the offer announced by the President of the Republic, which, according to them, requires speed in the implementation and not to wait for the approach of the summer season, “because this will lead to great pressure on Air Algérie agencies and chaos in the process of booking and selling tickets”.

Regarding the process of freezing summer reservations, sources from Echorouk confirmed that the case concerns many European countries such as France, Spain, Italy, even Turkey, Canada, and others. countries which are experiencing a large influx of the Algerian community living abroad, and the matter, according to them, is due to the high demand which has exceeded the supply more than 10 times, “this requires an urgent plan for the summer holidays using the full capacity of Air Algérie, which allocated 10 flights per week to Canada and dozens of flights to France, which remains the first destination for Algerians, then Turkey”.

“The process of compensating unused ticket holders is accelerating, where customers have a choice of either offsetting the price or getting new tickets, and it takes them longer because it’s tied to Air’s cash flow. Algeria, which has recently experienced a drop in revenue due to roof thefts, and with the program planned for the summer, the treasury will recover more and the compensation process will double to include all customers without exception”
