Three weeks after the opening of the air borders in Algeria, the authorities have still not communicated anything on the continuation of this operation next July. Regarding the resumption of flights from the national company, Air Algérie to Canada, it seems that there is no flight plan to this destination.
Indeed, if we believe the generalized daily Liberté, in its edition of June 22, 2021, Canada does not appear in the schedule of flights that the Algerian company, Air Algeria, will operate during this summer. This is according to sources said to be reliable and reported by the aforementioned newspaper.
Indeed, since the resumption of air flights operated by the Algerian carrier on June 1, no information has yet been communicated on, in particular, the continuation of this operation. But also, if necessary to add new destinations. At the moment, Air Algérie operates round-trip flights with six (6) countries: France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey and Tunisia.
In addition, the flight program advanced by the national fleet has been maintained until then. It is expected to continue until the end of this June. It should be noted that for the moment, the authorities have not given any information about the July program. According to the same source, the decision of the Scientific Committee for Monitoring the Covid-19 Pandemic is pending.
Air Algérie: Canada is not in the program
In the same vein, members of the Algerian diaspora in Canada were nevertheless able to reach their country. It was through foreign airlines that they landed in Algeria. Some made their stopovers in European cities. Others have passed through Dubai.
Let us remain in the register of the resumption of flights to Algeria. In some destinations, the strengthening of services is becoming more and more significant, with France in particular. In other parts of the world where there are significant numbers of Algerians, there are still no direct flights. We note here, Canada, for example.
