TUNIS (FIBA AfroBasket 2017) – The second leg of the three-team FIBA Africa Zone 1 qualifier for the FIBA AfroBasket 2017 tips off on Friday in the Tunisian capital of Tunis.

And the hosts couldn’t be in a stronger position to reach the Final Round in Congo-Brazzaville (August 19-30).

Two places for the Congo-Brazzaville showpiece will be at stake at the emblematic Salle Olympique de Rades, on the outskirts of Tunis, where Algeria and Morocco will be attempting to stop Tunisia from reaching the FIBA AfroBasket for the 10th straight time.

Can Algeria and Morocco stop Tunisia?ย It will be challenging for both teams, especially as Tunisia not only have the home court advantage, but they have also proved too much for Algeria and Morocco in the first leg.

Having secured two wins in as many games in last week’s first leg of the regional qualifier in Algiers, the Tunisians have one foot in Congo-Brazzaville.

Meanwhile, Algeria will need to overcome an 0-2 deficit to qualify for FIBA Africa’s 16-team flagshipย event, while Morocco’sย 1-1 mark isย encouragingย for the decisive round of the qualifier.

Tunisia face Morocco on Friday before closing their qualifying campaign against Algeria on Sunday. Algeria and Morocco will square offย on Saturday.

The teams that finish in the top twoย will advance to FIBA AfroBasket 2017, joining African champions Nigeria, hosts Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Uganda and Mozambique. Five more teams will qualify while two other places will be allocated via a wild card process.
