The President of the Republic Kais Saied received Wednesday at the Palace of Carthage the Minister of Justice Leila Jaffel who presented to the Head of State the final version of the amendment to article 411 relating to bad checks.
According to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, this bill aims to strengthen banking responsibility, the use of alternative electronic payment methods, and the improvement of banking practices to ensure security standards for payment by check. and the establishment of social justice and economic development.
And to add that this project also aims to adapt penal policies with the specificities of banking transactions by checks and the establishment of a mechanism for the regularization of the situations of those who are the subject of legal proceedings and involved in cases of bad checks in such a way as to guarantee the rights of the creditor and the debtor on the one hand, and engages the responsibility of all parties involved.
