A sit-in in solidarity with journalist Rabah Karéche was organized in front of the headquarters of “liberté” in the capital Algiers.
Dozens of journalists, activists supported by citizens organized today a sit-in of solidarity and support for the journalist of “liberty”, Rabah Karéche recently arrested, and in detention for a week in Tamnrasset prison.
The sit-in mobilized several colleagues as well as activists who came to show their support and demand the immediate and unconditional release of the journalist of the french-speaking daily “liberté”, Rabah karéche.
Armed with several placards, banners of support, and wearing a t-shirt bearing the image of the journalist, the protesters chanted: “Sahara hours, 3adala moustaqila” (free press, independent justice); “Harirou el mou3taqaline!” (free the detainees), “free Algeria”, “Djazair horra dimoqratia”, (free and democratic Algeria),; “Rabah Karéch sahafi horr” (Khaled Drareni is a free journalist)…
Journalist Saïd Boudour in custody
Journalist Said Boudour, arrested on Friday April 23 during the demonstration of the 114th Friday of the popular movement Hirak in Oran, was taken into custody at the central police station.
Note that, during the same demonstration, several activists were arrested, among them we find the journalist Said Boudour who was taken into custody overnight from Friday to Saturday at the central police station in Oran.
“Today, we experienced the horror in Oran. the march was prevented with a very important reinforcement of the anti-riot forces, and a considerable number of plainclothes agents. The Hirakists, for want of not being able to walk, improvised a sit-in with the intention of breaking the fast on the spot, even if there was not much to eat, ”Said Kaddour Chouicha vice-president. of LADDH.
