CONSTANTINE (Algeria) – Surplus cement production will be recorded late 2017, said Tuesday in Constantine Minister of Industry and Mines Abdesslem Bouchouareb.

The cement production “will be of 30 million tonnes in the end of 2017” thanks to the multiple commissioned plants, said the minister, underlining that “Algeria today reaches self-sufficiency in cement production.”

Bouchouareb added that the cement market disturbance “has been caused by speculation,” affirming that the State is determined to protect the national economy against attacks.

The Minister of Industry and Mines announced the commissioning of two plants in Adrar and in Biskra during April.
