The Embassy of Algeria in Italy will organize, on May 29 in Turin (capital of the Piedmont region), an Economic Forum dedicated to “Prospects for the development of the automotive industry in Algeria”, aimed at encouraging Italian equipment manufacturers to develop their activities in Algeria after the investment undertaken by the automobile group Stellantis.

The Forum will be organized in collaboration with the National Association of the Italian Automotive Industry (Anfia) and in partnership with the automotive group Stellantis. The event is part of the strengthening and diversification of Algerian-Italian cooperation and partnership relations and in light of the substantial improvement in the business climate in Algeria.

This forum, in which around a hundred Algerian and Italian economic and institutional players will take part, will be a great opportunity for operators from both countries active in the automotive components sector to explore ways and means of cooperation in this field and will represent an asset that will add to the series of achievements made in recent years by both parties.

Through this meeting, the Algerian party aims, on the one hand, to promote the country’s image by presenting the structural reforms carried out by the government to improve the business climate, in particular the adoption of a new regulatory framework for investments, and, on the other hand, to seize the positive momentum generated by the official launch of the marketing of the Fiat brand in Algeria, on March 19, to encourage Italian equipment manufacturers to develop their activities in Algeria.

Indeed, the major investment by the Italian automobile giant in Oran, estimated at 200 million euros and whose entry into production is scheduled for next December, reinforces the political choices of the Algerian government to bring about a real automotive industry in Algeria.
